POLICIES
You must be at least 18+ years of age to rent a cabin at Blue Door Cottages and may be asked for ID upon arrival
payment / deposit:
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your cottage. The credit card used for the deposit will be retained on file and charged in case of property damage. This includes, but is not limited to property damage, excessive cleaning, late checkout, smoking etc. You will pay the balance of your bill when you check in. The credit card on file will be charge for the remaining balance the day of check-in unless you have made other arrangements prior to that day.
cancellation policy:
All deposits are non-refundable for any reason. No refunds are given for early check-outs for any reason.
Direct Bookings:
If you have booked through our website or over the phone and need to cancel a reservation that is more than 14 days prior to check-in, we will allow you to use that deposit to rebook your stay ONE TIME. You must rebook the same day that you cancel, in order to use the deposit. Deposits can only be used in the same season (ending the last week of October every year). The deposit cannot be transferred into the next year. Multiple deposits cannot be combined. Use of deposits to rebook is subject to availability.
Cancellations less than 14 day prior to check-in will be charged an additional 25% of the booking total.
Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to check-in and no-shows will be charged 100% of the remaining total. This amount is non-refundable and cannot be used towards rebooking.
Online Travel Agency Bookings:
If your have booked through an OTA such as Expedia, Hotels.com, or Airbnb, you must contact them directly to modify or cancel your reservation.
All deposits made through OTAs are non-refundable and cannot be used rebook.

check in / check out:
Check-in is between 3 pm and 9 pm, Eastern Time. Check-out is 11am. You will be required to sign a basic hotel liability waiver. Please contact us prior to your stay if you will be checking-in later, need bedding for the pull-out sleeper (if applicable), or need an extra set of towels ($10 fee).
no smoking ( only outside ):
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all of the cottages and around the pool. Each cottage is outfitted with a cigarette smoke detection device and you will be charged a $200 cleaning fee if smoking occurred in the room. You may smoke outside, so long as you dispose of any cigarette butts in the provided receptacles.
no pets:
Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets at Blue Door Cottages. This applies inside the cottages, or on the grounds, either by you or anyone visiting you on the property.
cottage number changes:
We reserve the right to assign you to a different cottage if necessary for administrative purposes. You will get the same floor plan or better, but possibly a different cottage number.
no RV’s or Camping:
Anywhere, on either side of the property.
no fireworks:
Anywhere, on either side of the property.
towel policy:
Since we’re a cottage rental vs a full service hotel, we will provide one set of towels upon check-in. We can provide an additional set of towels for $10.00 per set. There is a coin laundry available on-site to launder your towels if you wish.
White bathroom towels should only be used for bathing purposes and not used for cleanup or pool towels.
You will be charged for all damaged and missing towels.
We do offer Beach Towels for sale on the property should you forget yours at home
